Cruising the web and noticed many people asking how to edit the menus. There were many how to’s, but no simple ones.

Try this:::

To get started, go to System –> Administration –> Add/Remove Software.

Search for

alacarte

After installing, go to System –> Preferences –> Main Menu.

Now check or un-check applications you want and don’t want on the Main Menu. Click ‘Revert’ to restore everything.

This does not actually remove the software, just gets it off the menu list. To actually remove the software use the package manager. You can think of this method as being similar to deleting a link in WINDOZE. The link goes away but not the program hangs around forever
